Résumé
Adolf Hitler began writing Mein Kampf (My Fight/Struggle/Campaign) after he was sentenced to prison for his attempted Munich beer pub putsch in 1923. He used the jail time to dictate his thoughts as his secretary, a luxury he was allowed in prison, typed his words. Hitler's intent was not to reveal his secret goals to the public but to maintain control of a radical political movement that was in danger of collapsing in the post-war confusion and anarchy of defeated Germany. The book provides a rare look into the mind of an emerging uneducated politician who later becomes the mad dictator of Germany. The lack of education was not a stopping factor for Hitler in 1925 since the educated perished in great numbers in the trenches of the First World War.
